Mayank Agarwal, CM Gautam and J Suchith speak about the KPL

Karnataka cricketers Mayank Agarwal, CM Gautam and J Suchith will be taking part in the fourth edition of the Karnataka Premier League which will begin next month. All three of them featured in the IPL this season (Mayank and Gautam represented the Delhi Daredevils, whereas Suchith played a key role in the victorious campaign of the Mumbai Indians).

In a small Question and Answer session, the three stars spoke about the tournament and also in general about their lifestyles.

CM Gautam

1. What do you feel about KPL as a tournament?

It’s a fantastic tournament where you get to play under lights and in front of huge crowd. It gives a good opportunity to the youngsters of the State to showcase their talent. 

2. What is your fitness regime like?

I train in the gym for about 90 mins in the morning and practice for 2hrs in the evening.

3. What gives you a high?

Scoring 100s

4. Do you have any superstitions before a game?

I listen to music and wear my left leg guard first.

5. Favourite movie?

The Hangover

 

Mayank Agarwal

1. What is your ideal workout?

A good circuit program.

2. How do feel when you have had a bad day on the field and what do you do to bounce back?

I put it behind me and look forward to a new day. 

3. What gives you a high?

Winning tournaments and making a worthy contribution for it.

4. What is your favourite movie?

The Ocean Series, Pirates of the Caribbean and Transporter.

5. What do you feel about KPL as a tournament?

It’s a great platform for us to perform at and a good place for youngsters to showcase their talent and skills. It provides a competitive atmosphere for us to compete against one another and improve and better our game.

 

J Suchith

1. What do you feel about your performances of late?

It feels great to be part of an IPL squad and especially winning. It provided a good break for me. I now look forward to performing at the KPL. 

2. What is your fitness regime like?

Train hard in the gym on alternate days and I do a lot of fielding.

3. How important is mental wellbeing/ staying mentally fit while playing round the clock?

When you are unable to push psychically your mental strength is put to test and you need to be mentally strong to tackle that.

4. What helps you retain your focus while playing?

Hunger to do better and better in each game.

5. Who is your favourite player and who do you look up to?
