"McCullum fit and raring to go" - KKR skipper Gambhir

Brendon McCullum

Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders received a much needed boost after the hard hitting New Zealand batsman, Brendon McCullum joined their squad prior to their match against RCB today. He is believed to have recovered from his hamstring injury that forced him to miss the first two games.

KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir however didn’t commit to McCullum’s presence in the XI for the next match. He said, “He’s (McCullum) fit and raring to go. It’s always good to have options under your sleeves but we’ll go with the 11 player who we think can do the job for us tomorrow.”

He believes that one loss in the beginning won’t affect their IPL campaign much in a long tournament like this, “I don’t believe in momentum, I only believe in playing good cricket. There’s still a lot of time left in the tournament and in this format a single individual can take the game away. We don’t discuss stuff like momentum in the team.”

KKR are scheduled to play RCB today at M. Chinnaswamy stadium Bangalore. The match starts at 4 pm.
