The stadium officials, however, cleared the air of excitement by removing the three names from the scoreboard. They admitted later that this was only an error which had been quickly rectified.
Michael Clarke, who retired from ODI cricket last year after a string of poor results tweeted after the picture of the scoreboard was posted in social media. Clarke had led Australia in the last year’s World Cup, which the team won and the 34-year-old batsman retired from the gentleman’s game after the Ashes, 2015.

The younger among the Pathan brothers, Irfan had debuted for India in 2003 against Australia. One of the leading wicket takers in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, Irfan had last played for the national side in 2012 during the World T20 Cup at Sri Lanka.
Parthiv Patel, however, has been missing from the international scene since 2012 after a match against Sri Lanka at Brisbane, Australia. Patel now leads the Gujarat side in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.
The match, however, turned interesting as India posted a total of 308. Rohit Sharma’s knock of 124 supported by Ajinkya Rahane’s 89 was instrumental for the total. However, the touring side lost too many wickets towards the end.
The Aussie side, however, was on the driving seat once they went in to bat. Geroge Bailey and Glenn Maxwell drove the home side to victory with their scores of 76 and 26 respectively. Australia won the match by seven wickets.
