I will bounce Kieron Pollard and hit him in the head: Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc (L) and Kieron Pollard

A month since the infamous on-field spat in an Indian Premier League match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has said that he will not tone down his aggression when he faces West Indian big hitter Kieron Pollard the next time.

When asked if he was looking forward to their next clash on the field, taking a dig at Pollard’s suspect technique against the moving ball that has kept him out of the West Indies Test side, he said: "If it's a Test match, you won't see Kieron there - he won't be playing, but I am still going to be trying to bounce him and hit him in the head whenever we are playing."

On if he had at least had a beer with Pollard after their outrageous scuffle in the just concluded IPL, Starc replied: "No, and I don't plan on talking to him either. All the cricketers know how Kieron is. He can do what he likes.”

Starc is currently with the Australian squad in Queensland as a part of the training camp ahead of their tour to the United Arab Emirates, where they face Pakistan. In an attempt to tackle the Pakistan spinners, Cricket Australia has decided to import Indian soil to lay pitches similar to those that they are likely to get in the UAE.
