Mitchell Starc ties the knot with Australian wicketkeeper-batswoman Alyssa Healy

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc got married to Australian Women’s team cricketer Alyssa Healy on 15 April. They become one of the very few couples who have both played Test cricket for their country.

The Australian couple have been dating for a while now and Starc shared his photo with Healy after their wedding on Twitter.

Starc has been out of action due to an injury, which ruled him out of the ICC World T20 2016 in India and the ongoing Indian Premier League. He is a very important part of the Australian team in all the international formats and was instrumental in Australia’s ICC World Cup 2015 winning campaign.

Australia missed the services of the left-arm pacer in the recently concluded World T20 where they were eliminated in the group stage.

Alyssa Healy, who hails from a cricketing family, has also represented Australia in all the international formats. Her uncle, Ian Healy, was one of the best wicketkeeper-batsman of his generation. She also followed the path of his uncle and became the wicketkeeper-batswoman of the Australian women’s team.

She was a member of the Australian women’s cricket team which went to the finals of the ICC Women’s World T20.

Twitter users congratulated the newlywed couple.
