Mohammad Azharuddin's biopic 'Azhar' gets positive reviews from film critics and audience
Tony D'Souza's latest Bollywood venture, ‘Azhar’ which features the likes of Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles has hit the theaters today. The much-anticipated film is based on the real-life events of the former Indian cricketer-turned-politician Mohammad Azharuddin. Written by Rajat Arora, ‘Azhar’ has already notched up a number of positive ratings by a lot of movie critics.
It has been reported that the biopic not only focuses on the playing career and the love life of the former Team India captain but it also has paid a lot of attention on the match-fixing angle which came into the limelight in the later part of Mohammad Azharuddin's career. According to a number of reviews, Emraan Hashmi has justified the lead role to the very best of his abilities.
Moreover, Lara Dutta, Gautam Gulati, Manjot Singh along with others in their respective supporting roles have also performed well in the movie.
Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Sony Pictures Network, ‘Azhar’ had roped in the likes of Amaal Mallik and Pritam as the film's music directors. Also, according to a number of viewers, Rakesh Singh's work behind the cameras has added a lot to the entertainment quotient of the film.

Renowned Bollywood film critic, Taran Adarsh has posted a review of the biopic on Twitter as he cited, “#AZHAR is Outstanding... Don't miss it! @emraanhashmi's career's best performance & his best film by far!! Must Watch film for cinema lovers.”
