Moises Henriques: All you need to know about the Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder

Henriques has been a key member of the SRH team

Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques has been one of the key players for Sunrisers Hyderabad ever since he joined their roster in the year 2014. Henriques has had a pretty decent season this year, too, and has played his part in his team's highly successful run in the season.  He has scored 107 runs and picked up 7 wickets for the Sunrisers in the 2016 IPL.

Here are 10 things that you should know about the Aussie cricketer:

1) Moises Constantino Henriques was born on 1 February 1987 in Funchal, Portugal. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler.

2) His father, Alvaro Henriques, is a former footballer who played for Portuguese second-division club, Camara de Lobos. Moises' family moved to Australia when he was just a year old.

3) The all-rounder graduated from the Endeavour Sports High School in Caringbah, New South Wales. Interestingly enough, there is a field in the school which has been named the 'Moises Henriques Field'.

4) Henriques represented the Australian team at the 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he played alongside future international cricketers like Alastair Cook, Suresh Raina, Wahab Riaz, Angelo Mathews and Vernon Philander. He was also the captain of the team which played in the next edition of the tournament in 2006 and emerged as the leading wicket-taker.

5) The 29-year old made his Test debut in the same series which saw India hand the Aussies a 4-0 whitewash at home. He made an impressive start to his career, though, with scores of 68 and 81 not out in his very first Test at Chennai.

6) Despite being exceptionally talented, Moises Henriques has represented Australia in just 3 Tests, 6 ODIs and 4 T20Is so far in a 6-year long career.

7) He made his first-class debut for New South Wales against South Australia in the year 2006. Since then, he has played 62 matches to score more than 2,500 runs and claimed 98 wickets.

8) Henriques has been a prolific performer in T20 cricket and made his debut against Queensland in 2006. In 127 matches, he has scored over 2,000 runs and picked up 95 wickets.

9) His IPL career began in the year 2009 when he represented the Kolkata Knight Riders. He later switched to the Delhi Daredevils in 2010 and then the Mumbai Indians. In the 2014 IPL auction, he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad and has played for them ever since.

10) In the 2015 season of the NatWest T20 Blast, Moises Henriques was involved in a collision with one of his Surrey team-mates as both were trying to take a catch. The match had to be abandoned due to the incident and Henriques suffered a broken jaw as a result of it.
