Moneyball9 Fantasy Tips: 3rd ODI - Zimbabwe vs India
With India closing out the series comfortably in the second ODI as expected, the fantasy users will have slight headaches going in to the third. The team management is expected to make some changes and at the same time give the middle order some time out in the middle since the top order finished off the proceedings in both matches. Keeping this factor in mind, we analyse the potential fantasy picks for the final ODI.
Batsmen:
Ambati Rayudu has had a very good tournament so far. He scored an unbeaten half-century in the first game and followed it up with an unbeaten 41 in the second to help India seal the series. It’s now a clear indication that he probably might not get a chance at the top order for the third consecutive game. The middle-order is seriously deprived of some action and India might even bat first in this final game if they win the toss since it would challenge the batsmen.
Karun Nair got out cheaply in the first game but spent some valuable time in the middle during the second and he could get another go at the home side. He is available only for 6000 rupees which could prove to be a bargain if he gets going. Manish Pandey is one candidate who is tipped to come up the order to have a hit! He will cost you 8000 bucks but you don’t have to worry about the price tag if you opt for someone like Vusi Sibanda in your lineup since he costs only 5500 rupees. He scored a fighting half-century in the last game and could deliver the goods again.
Wicket-keeper batsman:
You can certainly gamble on this front now! With KL Rahul scoring a spectacular century, he could be demoted to ensure someone else gets some valuable time in the middle. You can be sure that the Indian skipper won’t be promoting himself ahead of the youngsters so there will be no point in spending money on him.
Probably someone like Kedar Jadhav could turn out to be ideal. Dhoni could send him at No. 4 since he hasn’t faced a ball in this series. Also remember that he scored a great ton in his last ODI, which was incidentally in Zimbabwe during the series last year. He is also available for just 4500 bucks which could turn out to be a huge bargain considering his capabilities.
All-rounder:
If you manage to save up money with some of these bargain picks, then that will provide you a chance to spend big on this department. India’s Axar Patel has been bowling decently in the series, and hence picking him would make sense. He will cost the user 8500 bucks but that shouldn’t matter unless you prefer picking players like KL Rahul and Hamilton Masakadza.
With a price tag of 8000 rupees, Elton Chigumbura can prove to be a tempting option as well since he can contribute with both bat and ball. He can resurrect the innings at the end with some lusty hits if needed and can send in some tidy overs. Users can opt for him as the flexible option in their lineup.
Bowlers:
If India does bat first as widely expected, then it is advisable to have a Zimbabwean new ball bowler. Some of these inexperienced batsmen could be exposed against the swinging ball in early testing conditions. Tendai Chatara is available at 5500 rupees and he can prove to be a real threat early on. If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can go for Taurai Muzarabani who will cost you only 4500 bucks.
From India’s point of view, one of the seamers could be rested and that could pave way for Jaydev Unadkat to have a go. Since he can operate well with the new ball, you can expect him to make an impact in these conditions as well. Jasprit Bumrah will be very expensive and hence picking him would need you to make a sacrifice elsewhere. Yuzvendra Chahal was the player of the match in the second ODI and you can pick him in your side again since he is an attacking wicket-taking option.
Our ideal team: Karun Nair, Vusi Sibanda, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Axar Patel, Elton Chigumbura, Tendai Chatara, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jaydev Unadkat.
