It comes as no surprise that Team India has made the most 300 plus scores in ODI cricket. They have been looked at upon as the best batting side especially over the last 15 years and that is the period where we have seen a lot of 300 plus totals. 1. India (78 times)
78 three hundred plus totals. India’s batting might has always been a subject of interest all around the world. Every country has been in awe of India’s batting prowess and have wondered how there is always a new batting talent coming up. From Azharrudin, Jadeja, Siddhu to Ganguly, Dravid, Sehwag to Yuvraj, Dhoni, Kohli etc and of course the little master Sachin Tendulkar who played with all of them, India has never been short of batting talent and that explains why they are on top of this list. Their highest score of 418/5 came against the Windies in a match where Sehwag made a double hundred.
2. Australia (75 times)
Just three short of India is Australia with 75. The most dominant side of the 20th century was blessed with both top class batsmen and bowlers over the years. Once they had the most feared top 3 in the form of Hayden, Gilchrist and Ponting. These three terrorised most of the attacks in the world and along with them they had some of the best finishers in the game in the form of Bevan and Hussey. An impressive factor here is that they have won 67 out of those 75 times.
3. Pakistan (58 times)
Pakistan come third on this list having made 58 three hundred plus totals. Mostly known for their bowling attacks over the years, it’s amazing how they have silently climbed up the ladder. They had one of the most reliable one day openers in the form of Saeed Anwar and some incredible middle order mainstays in the form of Inzamam, Yousuf, Mianded and recently Misbah. Their highest total in one day cricket came against Bangladesh when they made 385 for 7, a game where Afridi went bonkers to make a 60-ball 124.
4. South Africa (54 times)
The best limited overs side to have won never won a World Cup comes in at number 4. Their highest score in limited overs cricket is the world record run chase they achieved against the Aussies. They also have an impressive conversion rate. Out of the 54 times where they crossed 300, they have won on 47 occasions. The current crop comprising of young De Kock and Amla with the like of AB de Villiers, David Miller and Faf du Plessis are sure to treat us with a lot more great batting performances.
5. Sri Lanka (47 times)
They possess the record of making the highest score in all three formats of the game, and the one day record came against the Netherlands when Sanath Jayasuriya powered them to 443 for 9. They have won on 38 out of 47 occasions where they have went past 300.
