Stats: Most fours in an innings
Here, we will take a look at the batsmen who have hit the most fours in an innings in both ODI and Test cricket. In Tests, the record is being held by England’s John Edrich and in ODIs, India’s Sachin Tendulkar is the proud owner of it.

1 Sachin Tendulkar (25 fours)
Exactly a 100 out of those 200 runs against South Africa came in fours for Sachin. That was one of the most unforgettable days in the history of cricket as Sachin finally became the first man to break the 200 run mark. He faced exactly 147 deliveries and hit 3 sixes in addition to those 25 fours. India won by 153 runs.
?2. Virender Sehwag (25 fours)
Many felt that Viru would be the first man to get to a ODI double ton. He wasn’t the first but eventually he did get there one and half years after his hero Sachin did. Viru too had hit exactly 25 fours in his innings in addition to the seven sixes. And ironically, India won this match too by the same margin of 153 runs like the one against South Africa in which Sachin scored a double.
?3. Sanath Jayasuriya (24 fours)
Sanath Jayasuriya had destroyed many attacks all over the world and he was never going to miss out on an opportunity to destroy the Dutch line up. And he did exactly that with the help of 24 fours. He made 157, which was his second 150 plus score in the span of three days. Sri Lanka won by a whooping margin of 195 runs.
?4. Saeed Anwar (22 fours)
Before the double ton by Sachin, for a long long time, Anwar’s 194 was the benchmark for most of the batsmen. He was given a standing ovation in the end by the Chepauk crowd after he got out in the 47th over hitting 22 fours and five sixes. Pakistan won in the end by 35 runs.?

Ever since his debut, the young man has been climbing a few ladders, and this is one of them. He forced his way in to the 5th spot after a phenomenal hundred against arch rivals Pakistan in the 2012 Asia cup. Chasing 330 to win, India won easily in the end thanks to this man’s 183 which contained 22 fours and a six.
