IPL: Most wickets for each team in IPL history
As the quote goes "Batsmen win you matches but bowlers win you tournaments." This has obtained special recognition especially in the T20 format of the game. Some of the underdogs in the history of IPL have been victorious not because they had heavyweight batsman but because they possessed a solid bowling unit.
The IPL auctions in the last few years are witnessing the same as well. Teams are heavily investing in bowlers and all-rounders and bowlers who boast variations have been the need of the hour for every IPL team.
However, some of these bowlers have registered a top status for the teams they have plied their trade for in the IPL by picking up the most wickets for that particular franchise in their history.
Let us take a look at the highest wicket-takers for each team in the IPL:
Rajasthan Royals - Shane Watson
The Rajasthan Royals won the IPL in the inaugural edition against all the odds and Watson was instrumental in their success. He has played a total of 78 matches for the Royals and has scalped 67 wickets.
His best seasons for the Royals has been the 2008 and 2013 editions of the IPL where he took 17 and 13 wickets respectively at an economy rate of 7.07 and 7.15 which is extremely impressive given the competitiveness of the IPL.
After representing RCB in the last two editions of the IPL, the all-rounder will now ply his trade for the CSK camp after being purchased for Rs. 4 Crores.
