Movie Dishoom to be screened for Team India ahead of 4th Test at Port of Spain
Recently released Bollywood movie, “Dishoom”, will be screened for Team India when they reach Port of Spain for the fourth and final Test of the series. The movie cast includes the likes of John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Akshay Khanna.
Team India have shown interest in watching the movie and it was evident from what the Rohit Dhawan, the director of the movie had this to say, “Actually they have shown a lot of interest, the whole team wants to watch it. Currently, they are in the West Indies. By the time they reach Port of Spain for the next test, we will be organising a screening for them. They are all very excited about the film because they have heard that the cricket has been shot in a very realistic manner and we’ve dealt with the cricketer also like a soldier, he is like a martyr, and is patriotic in the film” .
The story deals with an Indian batsman who goes missing from the Middle East and two policemen, played by John Abraham and Varun Dhawan, set up a team for a 36-hour manhunt from either side of the Arabian Sea. The film was released worldwide on 28th July 2016.
When asked about the cricketing connection in the film Varun Dhawan said, “What is really cool is that Mohinder Amarnath Ji is also there in the film and he really liked the film. He was very happy with the way the cricket was shot and the way we have shown the Indian cricketer. He even sent a personal message to Rohit. That means a lot when someone as great as him gives you a thumbs up.”
India is currently in West Indies playing a four-match Test series where they are leading the series 1-0 after 2 matches. The Indians were in a very strong position going into the 5th day of the 2nd Test but counter attacking batting from Jerome Blackwood, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder enabled West Indies to draw the Test match from a hopeless situation. It was a lacklustre bowling performance by the Indians on the 5th day and the pitch didn’t help their cause either. They will be looking forward in rectifying their mistakes come the 3rd Test.
