MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh attend Ishant Sharma's wedding in Gurgaon
Indian seam bowler Ishant Sharma tied the knot with national level basketball player Pratima Singh at a farmhouse in Gurgaon on Friday night. Apart from several prominent personalities, his teammates MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh attended the wedding.
Dhoni is keeping himself fit and preparing for the upcoming limited-overs series against England. Yuvraj, who got married quite recently, has been trying hard to make a comeback into the Indian team by piling on the runs in the domestic circuit. The senior duo have played numerous matches alongside Ishant over the last few years.

Ishant was released from India’s squad for the fourth Test against England in Mumbai. However, he may rejoin the squad ahead of the fifth Test in Chennai which begins from the 16th.
The 28-year old got engaged with Pratima in June. Upon completion of the engagement ceremony, the bride’s mother Urmila Singh had said, “I am very pleased with my daughter’s choice. Ishant is very good. Pratima is a sports person and has chosen a cricketer as her life partner.”
She added, “Pratima started playing basketball at an early age. She was selected to the Indian junior basketball team in 2006. She was made captain in 2008. Pratima has done masters in physical education (MPEd) and M Phil (physical education) from Delhi University. She has recently enrolled PhD in physical education at Delhi University.”
Ishant’s previous appearance had come during the away series against West Indies earlier this year. Since then, he suffered a bout of chikungunya (viral infection) and subsequently dropped down the pecking order.
With Mohammed Shami making a smooth comeback from injury and Umesh Yadav gaining in confidence, Test skipper Kohli has opted for the much quicker duo. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s ability to swing the new ball as well as provide control at other times could make him the next in line.
Kapil Dev, who is India’s highest wicket-taker among pacers, had earlier quipped, “I think Ishant is a very good bowler. He is a genuine quick bowler with great height. But he has to develop the wicket-taking ball, that ability to take wickets at crucial times. Perhaps, that's where he is lacking. There is no shortage of ability and talent but somewhere the talent to take wickets is missing.”

Having found matrimonial bliss, Ishant will be hoping for an upswing in his fortunes on the field as well. With the team management showing an inclination to rotate the fast bowlers in order to keep them fresh, he might return sooner than anticipated.
