MS Dhoni: Ashish Nehra is one Indian bowler who bowls pace effortlessly
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Chennai Super Kings, lavished praise on seamer Ashish Nehra after his impressive spell with the ball and said that his team won as they were able to hold onto their nerves during their nail-biting one-run victory against the Delhi Daredevils in the second match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015.
"You have to hold on to your nerves," said Dhoni during the post-match presentation after the last-over thriller at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Dhoni praises Nehra
In respect to Dwayne Bravo’s last over in which the West Indian gave away 16 runs, the skipper added: "I thought the last one was in the slot, and Bravo won't be happy with the ball he bowled, but it is good to win close games."
"Nehra is good, at times he is prone to injuries, but he backs himself, which is good for a fast bowler. It is good to see him the way he bowls. He has kept himself fit. He is one Indian bowler who bowls pace effortlessly," asserted Dhoni while talking about Nehra.
Speaking on the match and the amazing MA Chidambaram audience, he said: "It was important to win because this was our first match here in a long time. Not just for us, but for the crowd, because they appreciate opposition too. A crowd you want to do well in front of."
Nehra pleased with start
After his Man-of-the-Match-winning figures of 4-0-25-3, Nehra said that he had felt that the Super Kings were 15-20 runs short of the total they desired at the half way stage in the match.
"The way we started we were definitely 15-20 short. In T20 games, every run is important. You can see the score so that run-out was important. A good start. These two points will count in the end. These are the games you want to win," he said.
