MS Dhoni's first love to be revealed in his biopic: Reports
World Cup winning Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s biopic starring popular actor Sushant Singh Rajput is about to hit the theatres in September this year. The movie promises to unknown many unknown stories from the life of the Indian limited-overs captain. One such revelation is going to be his love story that ended in tragic circumstances. When he was 20 and was ambitious of playing in the blue jersey, he fell in love with a girl. The boy from Ranchi was confident that he’d found his life partner.
In 2002-03, he performed well for India A in the Tri-series against Pakistan and Kenya which caught the eye of the selectors and the captain of India back then, Sourav Ganguly. But his success was followed by misery as the girl was killed in an accident.

Dhoni returned home and was shocked to hear about the tragedy and was in temporary mourning for a year. His near and dear ones thought that he would break down after the incident. But slowly, he picked himself up and after leaving his emotions behind was back inside the field to represent the national team. Success followed quickly, thereafter. In the second ODI of Pakistan’s tour of India, he scored a blistering 148 off 123 balls, and after that he never looked back.
Dhoni tied the knot with Sakshi Singh Rawat on July 4, 2010, but as per the reports of The Mirror, Dhoni never forgot his first love even after his marriage. Kiara Advani will play the role of Sakshi in the film, while Anupam Kher is playing the role of Dhoni’s father.

Is was also learnt that Neeraj Pandey, the director of the upcoming biopic had taken Dhoni’s consent to introduce the character into the film, as it was a crucial event in his life. After scrutiny, the wicket-keeper batsman granted the permission. This is the first time a biopic is being made based on the cricketer.
Dhoni, arguably, has been the most successful captain for India in both ODIs and Tests. He led the Indian team to its maiden World T20 triumph back in 2007, the ICC World Cup victory in 2011 and also the Champions Trophy win in 2013.
