The year 2019 seems to be getting better for MS Dhoni with each passing day. We are yet to get through the first quarter of the year and sagas of his heroics with bat and gloves in Australia, New Zealand have already made his fans beam with pride. Adding to the pleasures is a recent development at the JSCA Cricket Stadium in the cricketer's hometown, Ranchi.

Honouring his numerous achievements, the JSCA Cricket Stadium will now have a pavilion named after the state's favourite son. The South Stand at the stadium will now be known as the MS Dhoni Pavilion, much to the delight of his loyal fans.

The long-held tradition of naming stands after popular cricketers has been regarded as a matter of great esteem in the sport. Thanks to the latest move by JSCA, MS Dhoni will soon join an elite class of Indian cricketers who have stands at their home grounds named after them. Also, the fact that India will soon take on Australia in an ODI at the JSCA Cricket Stadium has made things all the more exciting for the fans.

Regarded as one of the finest cricketers ever produced by India, MS Dhoni assumes a revered stature in world cricket. The former Indian skipper is fondly remembered for leading the country to glories at the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, Cricket World Cup in 2011, and Champions Trophy in 2013. It may be recollected that in 2009, Dhoni even set a record as India's first captain to guide the team towards the numero uno spot in Test Cricket.

Apart from these merits, the wicketkeeper-batsman is admired for his stellar batsmanship. Arguably the best finisher in the modern-day game, the 37-year-old also stands as one of the few Indian batsmen to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.

Post the series against Australia; the veteran will have his sight set on the Cricket World Cup, which will be commencing in May this year.
