MS Dhoni rested, Virat Kohli to lead India in first 3 ODIs against Sri Lanka
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been rested from the Indian squad for the first 3 ODIs against Sri Lanka this November.
Virat Kohli has been named the captain for the first 3 ODIs, as spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made a return to the squad after being rested against West Indies.
Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also been rested, and Varun Aaron makes a comeback. Kuldeep Yadav has not been included in the squad for the ODIs, but has been included in the India A squad for the practice match.
A total of 3 ODIs were played between India and West Indies, with a match in Vizag cancelled due to cyclone before the tour was abruptly cancelled due to a payment dispute between the West Indian players and their board.
The ODI tour with Sri Lanka was hurriedly arranged as SLC agreed to tour India at such a short notice.
The BCCI working committee announced that the five ODIs will be played at Cuttack, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Squad for practice match announced
Rohit Sharma, who has been on the sidelines due to his finger injury, has been included in the India A squad which will play a practice game before the ODI series. Manoj Tiwary has been named the skipper.
