MS Dhoni tries his hand at something new
Indian ODI captain MS Dhoni tries his hand at polishing “The Wall”. People might get deceived by the statement but it has nothing to with Rahul Dravid.
During his playing days, Rahul Dravid was given the nickname “The Wall” due to his extraordinary defensive technique and his rock solid batting.
We all know that Dhoni loves exploring new things and he enjoys life outside cricket. His never ending love for the army and para jumping, made him try something totally different and his quote suggests he was not too successful in what he did.
The Indian ODI captain posted a picture on his official Instagram handle, where he was seen polishing the marble on a wall. He found it a demanding task and wrote, “Tried my hands at polishing marbles only to find out it’s quite tough, something’s should be left to professionals.”

The current Indian ODI captain retired from the longer format of the game in 2014-15 during the Test series in Australia. Despite being criticised for his captaincy away from home, statistically, he still remains the most successful Test captain for India.
Dhoni has been a consistent performer for India in the limited overs format scoring runs all over the world but he hasn’t been able to replicate it in the Test arena. He felt that it was time to hand over the captaincy for the good of the team. Though he has been criticised in the last few years for his defensive approach even in ODIs, he remains the only captain in the world to win all 3 major ICC tournaments.
Dhoni has been one of the greatest ODI batsman of all time and his staggering average of over 52 goes on to prove this. People talk about technique but here is a man, who despite having a peculiar batting style, has been immensely successful at the highest level. His performances have dipped to a certain extent, but he still remains a force to be reckoned with and can destroy any bowling attack with his unorthodox strokeplay.
