MS Dhoni wants Indian bowlers to use their brains

MS Dhoni

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has asked the Indian bowlers to start using their brains after the loss in the 4th ODI against New Zealand at Hamilton.

Dhoni, looking clearly distressed with the performance of his bowlers, who have been continuously outplayed by the Kiwi batsman, stated: “When it comes to talent, we definitely have bowlers who can do well. But at the same time, they will have to start using their brains more and improvise themselves”.

“Shami is someone who has been quite consistent, apart from this series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been off this series but he’s a good bowler. At the end of the day, they need to push themselves because with rule changes it is going to be quite tough. But it hasn’t been rule changes hurting us in this series, it has been bad bowling”.

India are yet to win a game in the series and are 0-3 down. With below par bowling performances like the one on Tuesday, it is highly unlikely that they will win the final game. Regardless of the result, the Indian team will look to put in a good shift so that they can wrestle away some momentum from New Zealand ahead of the Test series.
