MSL 2018: Rain ruins top of the table clash
The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and Cape Town Blitz had to settle for a share of the spoils after rain ruined their big Mzansi Super League showdown at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.
The visitors had arrived in the Eastern Cape on the back of their four-match winning streak being broken by Paarl Rocks at the weekend – a crucial result that had jolted the progress of the runaway leaders.
Both the Giants and Blitz would have had high hopes of achieving a key result in PE, but instead had to settle for just two points each that did little to change the reflection of the table.
The Capetonians now moved up to 20 points from six games, six ahead of the home side, who moved to 14.
Next up for the Giants is another home encounter against the Rocks on Friday, with the Blitz scheduled to travel to the Tshwane Spartans on Saturday.
