Mumbai Indians looking for a replacement for injured Aaron Finch: Rohit Sharma

Aaron Finch has been ruled out of the remainder of this IPL

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has confirmed that Aaron Finch has been ruled out from the remainder of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a hamstring injury. He added that the team management is now searching for a suitable replacement for the Australian opener.

In a press conference ahead of their match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday, he said: “Yes, Finch is ruled out of the IPL 2015. We are thinking about the replacement. There are some names coming up. Nothing has been finalised yet."

"We needed to look at a few more options. We will check that and accordingly decide. But it has to be done quickly," the skipper added.

Finch injured his hamstring while taking a quick single during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. He looked in deep trouble immediately and had to be carried off the field, taking no further part in what was their 3rd consecutive loss this season.

Finch had taken to Twitter yesterday to express his disappointment over the hamstring injury that he sustained. He tweeted:

The Mumbai Indians had already suffered a blow when Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood decided to withdraw from the IPL campaign before the start of the tournament in order to stay fresh and concentrate on Australia’s upcoming international tours.
