Mumbai Indians (MI) 2017 IPL jersey unveiled
What’s the story?
The Mumbai Indians fans’ long wait to own a team’s matchday jersey came to an end as the franchise released the team’s jersey for the 2017 season earlier today. The franchise confirmed on their official Twitter handle that the merchandise that the fans can get their hands on is finally available. The merchandise includes the match jerseys, practice jerseys, travel polos, special tenth edition round neck jerseys, caps, wrist bands, LED bracelets etc.

After failing to qualify for the playoff in the 2016 season, Mumbai Indians will look to better their performance and pose a challenge in a bid to win their third IPL title. The preparations for the 2017 season began on the right note as the team management did a reasonable job in the IPL auction. They purchased as many as seven players which include the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Nicholas Pooran, K Gowtham, Karn Sharma, Kulwant Khejroliya, Asela Gunaratne and Saurabh Tiwary.

With a strong squad, Mumbai will look to dictate the terms in the IPL. Unlike the other teams, they don’t have any injury concerns to the players as the players who were on the sidelines, captain Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya were given a green signal by the BCCI to take part in the tournament.
Their West Indian imports Kieron Pollard and Lendl Simmons will join the team ahead of the first match while Sri Lankan duo of Asela Gunaratne and Lasith Malinga might miss the MI season opener due to their participation in the T20I series against Bangladesh.

What’s next?
Mumbai Indians will kick start their 2017 IPL campaign on April 6 when they travel to Pune to take on Rising Pune Supergiant at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

Mumbai Indians’ jersey for the 2017 season looks better than the one they wore last season, thanks to the designs on the shoulders and the sides. Wearing their brand new jersey, Rohit Sharma and co. will go into the 2017 IPL as one of the favourites and will look to win their third IPL crown.
