The fourth week of Mzansi Super League 2019 culminated with a massive upset as Cape Town Blitz handed the Tshwane Spartans their first loss of the tournament. The entire week was full of upsets as the top three teams, Spartans, Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and Paarl Rocks lost their matches in this week.

Durban Heat registered their first victory while Cape Town too improved their position on the standings. Unfortunately, the defending champions, Jozi Stars failed to open their account as they recorded their seventh consecutive loss in this season.

Though there have been a few high-scoring matches, the fast bowlers have ruled the roost in the Mzansi Super League. The likes of Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Junior Dala are among the top 10 wicket-takers which solidifies the aforementioned statement.

On that note, let us have a look at the top three bowlers who took the most wickets in MSL 2019 till week 4.

#3 Imran Tahir (Nelson Mandela Bay Giants)

Matches - 7, Wickets - 10, Best Figures - 3/23, Economy Rate - 5.84

The sole spinner to feature in the top 3 wicket-takers of Mzansi Super League is the Bay Giants' leggie, Imran Tahir. The 40-year-old veteran has taken 10 wickets in 7 games at an average of 15.24.

Tahir played just one match in the fourth week of MSL 2019. Playing against Durban Heat, he took 1 wicket in his 4-overs spell while conceding 28 runs. Though the Bay Giants did not win the game, Tahir impressed the fans with his leg-spin.

#2 Junior Dala (Nelson Mandela Bay Giants)

Matches - 7, Wickets - 11, Best Figures - 3/19, Economy Rate - 10.21

Another bowler from the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants to be a part of this elite list is the South African right-arm pacer, Junior Dala. He has taken 11 wickets in 7 matches but has conceded runs at a hammering rate. His economy rate of 10.21 shows that Dala leaks a lot of runs in the powerplay overs.

In the game against Durban Heat, Wihan Lubbe had smashed 2 sixes and 4 fours in Junior's first over. He ended the game with figures of 1/46. Thus, the team management would be worried about his form despite him being the second-highest wicket-taker.

#1 Dale Steyn (Cape Town Blitz)

He had returned with figures of 2/25 in the match against Durban Heat as well. Looking at his consistency in MSL 2019, he is bound to fetch a massive contract at the IPL Auction 2020.
