Mzansi Super League 2019: Top 3 run-scorers till week 3
The 2nd edition of Mzansi Super League is currently underway in South Africa. The new tournament had a highly successful debut in the year 2018. MSL 2019 has kicked off from 8th November and will last till 16th December, when the top two teams will lock horns in the league's final. Like 2018, 6 teams are a part of the tournament and will battle against each other in a round-robin format for the prestigious title.

Jozi Stars are the current defending champions of MSL as they had defeated Cape Town Blitz in the 2018 finals. However, the 2019 edition has proven to be a disastrous one for the inaugural champions. The Stars are yet to register a single win in the tournament. On the other hand, the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and Paarl Rocks have secured the top two positions with their magnificent performances.
The batsmen have ruled the tournament so far, and we take a look at the three batsmen who have scored the most runs till week 3.
#3 Janneman Malan (Cape Town Blitz)

The 23-year-old South African batting star, Janneman Malan has been performing exceptionally well for Cape Town Blitz in Mzansi Super League 2019. He has already aggregated 187 runs in 6 matches at a splendid average of 37.40.
He played his best knock of 99* against the Jozi Stars side in the very first match of the tournament. His strike-rate of 146.09 is the highest among the top 3 run-scorers of the tournament. Besides, Malan even played a 31-run innings against the table-toppers, Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.
#2 Temba Bavuma (Jozi Stars)

Temba Bavuma has been one of the best performers from the Jozi Stars side in 2nd edition of Mzansi Super League until now. Along with captaining the side, he has also shone as an individual in the batting department. Bavuma has scored 195 runs from just 6 matches at a fantastic average of 39.
Although his strike-rate is below 140, he has showcased his talent by smashing 18 fours and 6 sixes in this league. He is just seven runs away from capturing the top spot in the batsmen’s leader-board.
#1 Reeza Hendricks (Jozi Stars)
Matches - 6, Runs - 201, Highest Score - 80, Strike Rate - 120.35
Despite having a star-studded line-up, Jozi Stars has not won a single game this year. The Stars batsmen are dominating the top run-scorers leader-board. Their best batsman, Reeza Hendricks has aggregated 201 runs so far in just 6 matches.
This includes 2 half-centuries which he recorded in the first two games and also a 40-run knock against Paarl Rocks. His highest score in MSL 2019 is 80 runs which was achieved against the Cape Town Blitz.
