New Zealand hit by injury
New Zealand’s speed sensation Tim Southee has injured his foot while playing against the England Lions. He went off the field and decided to not bowl in the rest of the day’s play.
The wickets in England provide both pace and bounce and, therefore, he is expected be a major threat to England’s batsmen. He can extract lateral movement off the surface as well. However, his availability for the first Test at Lord’s is under the scanner.
New Zealand’s coach Mike Hesson, however, is confident of Southee’s return for the first Test at Lord’s, but conceded that if Southee is not fit, then Doug Bracewell or Neil Wagner will fill up the vacancy.
