Mohammed Shami won his second Player of the Match award in the 5 match ODI series.

After notching up easy wins in the first two ODIs, the Indian team took on the Kiwis in the 3rd match of the 5-match ODI series at Mount Maunganui.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss for the second time in the series and decided to bat first. However, Williamson's decision to bat first backfired once again as a disciplined bowling effort from India led to New Zealand being dismissed for a modest score of 243 in 49 overs.

With 244 runs required for its first ODI series win in New Zealand since 2009, the Indian batsmen hardly had any trouble in chasing down the target and won the match and the series by a comfortable margin of 7 wickets in the 43rd over on back of fine half centuries from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

With the match done and dusted, let's see how the players from both sides fared in this one-sided encounter.

New Zealand

Ross Taylor's 93 run knock went in vain.

Martin Guptill- 2/10

Martin Guptill's poor run in the ODI series continued, as he was dismissed for only 13 runs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a second successive time in the series.

Colin Munro- 1/10

The hard-hitting Colin Munro had a tough time while facing Mohammed Shami and was eventually dismissed by Shami for just 7 runs in the 2nd over of the New Zealand innings.

Kane Williamson- 5/10

The best batsman in the New Zealand camp, Kane Williamson did not have a good match as he struggled to force the pace and played a painful innings of 28 runs from 48 balls before being undone by a brilliant catch from Hardik Pandya.

Ross Taylor- 10/10

The veteran batsman continued his brilliant form of 2019 and scored a superb 93-run knock from 106 balls and was dismissed by Mohammed Shami with just 7 runs short of his 21st ODI hundred.

Tom Latham- 7/10

Tom Latham scored a fine half century and added 119 runs for the 4th wicket with Ross Taylor to help New Zealand recover from early blows, before being dismissed in the 38th over by Yuzvendra Chahal for 51 runs of 64 balls.

Henry Nicholls- 2/10

For the third match in succession, Henry Nicholls played a poor shot to get himself dismissed by the bowling of Hardik Pandya for just 6 runs.

Mitchell Santner- 2/10

Santner too was dismissed by Hardik Pandya for just 3 runs. However, Santner did have a good day with the ball as he bowled an economical spell of 10-0-45-1.

Doug Bracewell- 1/10

New Zealand's batting hero from the 2nd ODI, Doug Bracewell had a match to forget as he was run out for 13 runs by Virat Kohli and his bowling was smashed all around the park by the Indian batsmen.

Ish Sodhi- 2/10

The leg spinner did not have a good game either, as he could neither contain the run flow nor pick up a wicket and ended up bowling an expensive spell of 7-0-53-0. While batting, Ish Sodhi scored run-a-ball 12 before being one of the three victims of Mohammed Shami.

Lockie Ferguson- 3/10

The right-arm quick had another ordinary outing as he went wicketless and conceded 57 runs from his 10 overs.

Trent Boult- 6/10

Trent Boult was the only New Zealand pacer to trouble the Indian batsmen and picked up the key wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli in his bowling spell of 10-1-40-2.
