1 Pakistani & 1 Indian in ICC Men's and Women's Player of the Month nominees for November 2024

International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Pakistan's Haris Rauf and India's Jasprit Bumrah alongside South Africa's Marco Jansen as the nominees for the Men's Player of the Month honor for the month of November 2024. The ICC also announced three nominations for the honour for the Women's Player of the Month as well.

Rauf has been listed as one of the nominations owing to his stellar performances across six ODIs and three T20Is played in the month. Across the month, Rauf accounted for 18 wickets in nine white ball games played in Australia and Zimbabwe.

India's premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah was also nominated for the monthly honor. After being absent from the third Test against New Zealand earlier this month, Bumrah was back in action in the first Test against Australia and was also appointed as the captain, with Rohit Sharma staying back in India for the birth of his son.

Across both innings, Bumrah registered figures of 8/72, with a five-wicket haul of 5/30 in the 18 overs he sent down in the first innings of the Australian batting. Bumrah also led India to a win in the first Test and was awarded as the player of the match for his contributions.

Marco Jansen also made the cut for this month's Player of the Month award after his impressive showings in the T20I series against India and in the first Test against Sri Lanka. Jansen picked up three wickets in four games against India, whilst scoring a 17-ball 54 in the third game of the four-match T20I series. However, his contributions in that series were in vain as the Proteas lost the series 3-1 to the reigning Men's T20 World Cup Champions.

In the first Test against Sri Lanka, Jansen played a crucial role as he picked up a seven-wicket haul to knock over Sri Lanka for 42, their lowest total in Test history. He returned in the second innings, picking up four wickets and ending the game with figures of 11/86 as South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 233 runs to take a series lead.

England's Danni Wyatt Hodge, South Africa's Nadine de Klerk and Bangladesh's Sharmin Akhter were nominated for the Women's Player of the Month honour. While England Women played against South Africa Women, Bangladesh Women played against Ireland Women in the last month.

Nadine de Klerk was in fine form against England Women. The 24-year-old all-rounder picked up four wickets and scored 80 runs across the three T20I games for her side but in vain as England Women whitewashed South Africa Women 3-0 in the T20I series.

A key part of the lineup in that whitewash against South Africa Women was Danni Wyatt Hodge, who scored 142 runs in three innings. She scored a match-winning 78 in the second game and an unbeaten 51 in the third as England won the series comprehensively.

Sharmin Akhter of Bangladesh Women was a vital cog in their series win against Ireland Women. She scored 139 runs, with a 96 in the first game to go with 43 runs in the second match as Bangladesh Women took an unassailable 2-0 series lead in the three-match ODI series.
