"2022 ka badla pura"- Top 10 funny memes as England got knocked out from 2024 T20 World Cup after a crushing loss vs India

England's 2024 T20 World Cup campaign ended after a disappointing loss in the second semi-final against India on Thursday, June 27. The Rohit Sharma-led side comfortably beat the defending champions by 68 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana to storm into the final.

It was an interesting tournament for England as they struggled in the group stage. Scotland gave them a tough fight for the second Super 8 spot in Group B. England narrowly edged them out eventually through a better net run rate to advance past the league phase.

They fared better in Super 8 by registering convincing wins over West Indies and the USA despite suffering a seven-run loss in the hard-fought contest against South Africa to reach the semi-finals. Nothing worked for England in the semis as India completely outplayed them in all departments to register a comprehensive win. The Men in Blue set a challenging 172-run target on a bowling-friendly pitch and then skittled out the opposition for just 103.

Incidentally, England thrashed India by 10 wickets in the semi-finals of the 2022 edition.

Fans took note of England's dismal loss in the semi-finals against India and expressed their reaction on the matter by sharing hilarious memes on X and Instagram.

"They played well and they outplayed us" - England captain Jos Buttler after clinical loss vs India in 2024 T20 World Cup semis

At the post-match presentation after the semi-final, England skipper Jos Buttler acknowledged that India outplayed them in all departments on a tricky pitch. Reflecting on the loss, he said (via Cricbuzz):

"India certainly outplayed us, may be let them get 20-25 runs too many, it was a challenging surface, they played well and they outplayed us, full deserved the win. Two years on, different conditions, credit to India, they played a very good cricket and deserved the win as I said. Obviously with the rain around, probably didn't think it would change much and don't think it really did."

On his team's performance in the tournament, Buttler added:

"With everything that's happened throughout the tournament, proud of the everyone's efforts to be here. I think we've lot of a adversity throughout the competition, we've stuck together well as a group and played some really good cricket in patches, but came up short when we needed the most."
