2024 Duleep Trophy second round: Team-wise list of changes

The first round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy saw India B beating India A by 76 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Also, India D defeated India C by four wickets at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur.

Musheer Khan starred for India B in their triumph over India A, hammering 181 off 373 balls in the first innings. Navdeep Saini scored a half-century and claimed five wickets, while Rishabh Pant contributed 61 off 47 in India B's second innings. In the other Duleep Trophy 2024 game, India C left-arm spinner Manav Suthar produced outstanding figures of 7-49 in the second innings.

The second-round matches of Duleep Trophy 2024 will be played from September 12 to September 15 in Anantapur. India A will take on India D, while India B will face India C. Apart from India C (unchanged), there have been some key changes to the squads announced for round two as several players picked for the first Test against Bangladesh are unavailable.


2024 Duleep Trophy round two: List of unavailable players and their replacements

Below is a team-wise look at squad changes for the second round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy.


India A squad for the second round

Opener Shubman Gill captained India A in the first round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy. However, he will be unavailable for the second round of the domestic tournament. Gill has been replaced by Pratham Singh (Railways), while Mayank Agarwal will lead India A in Gill's absence.

KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep will also not turn out for India A in round two as they are part of the Test squad for the first match against Bangladesh. They will be replaced by Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA), SK Rasheed (Andhra CA), Shams Mulani, and Aaqib Khan (UPCA), respectively.

India B squad for the second round

For India B, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and keeper-batter Pant will not feature in the second round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy. Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku Singh have been named as their replacements respectively.

Sarfaraz Khan has been named in the Indian squad for the Chennai Test, but he will turn out for India B in round two. Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, who has received his maiden India call-up, won't represent India B in the upcoming round. Himanshu Mantri (Madhya Pradesh CA) has thus been added to the squad.

India D squad for the second round

There are a couple of changes in India D for round two of the 2024 Duleep Trophy. Since all-rounder Axar Patel will feature in the first Test against Bangladesh, he has been replaced by Nishant Sindhu (Haryana CA).

Also, pacer Tushar Deshpande has been ruled out of round two due to a niggle and has been replaced by India A’s Vidwath Kaverappa.
