"A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles": R Ashwin posts words of wisdom days after announcing international retirement

Former Team India spin ace and all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin put a post on his official social media account, sharing his thoughts after retirement. The 38-year-old announced the decision during the post-match press conference on Wednesday, December 18.

Ashwin made the big announcement after the third Test at Gabba between India and Australia ended in a draw due to incessant rain. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder stated that while he called it a day in international cricket, he would continue playing the sport and be seen in action at club or domestic level.

Posting an image from the cricket-themed Tamil movie Lubber Pandhu, Ashwin took to his official account and posted a story along with a quoted text that read:

"A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles"

Chennai Super Kings went all out for Ravichandran Ashwin for the upcoming IPL season. When the auctioneer announced his name, CSK started bidding for him before Lucknow Super Giants entered the fray. There was an intense battle in the arena before the latter opted out. Royal Challengers Bengaluru fiercely bid but pulled out before Rajasthan Royal went toe to toe against CSK.

In the end, Chennai Super Kings managed to acquire him back, reuniting him with the likes of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja after 10 years. The five-time IPL champions shelled ₹9.75 crores and the offie will now be seen in Yellow. Ashwin has previously represented Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and the now-defunct Rising Pune Super Giants.
