After going unsold at IPL 2025 auction, senior Bangladesh cricketer left out of T20I squad for series against West Indies
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the West Indies. All three fixtures are set to be played at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent, on December 15, 17 and 19.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who went unsold at the recently held IPL 2025 auction, has surprisingly failed to make the cut. The 29-year-old, who represented the Chennai Super Kings in the 17th edition of the IPL, picked up 14 wickets in the nine matches he played for the five-time winners.
Also, he managed four wickets when he last featured in the T20Is for his nation against hosts India in the three-match series in October. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side was completely dominated by the Men in Blue who convincingly clinched the series 3-0.
Litton Kumar Das to lead Bangladesh in the T20I series against the West Indies
Shanto, who is still recovering from a groin injury, misses out on the T20I spot having already been sidelined from the two Tests and the three ODIs against the West Indies. In his absence, Litton Kumar Das will be leading the side in the T20I series.
While Towhid Hridoy, Shoriful Islam and Rakibul Hasan have also been left out of the squad, veteran all-rounder Mahmudullah has already played his last T20I game for Bangladesh against India in Hyderabad before announcing his retirement from the format. Meanwhile, apart from leading the visitors in the Test series which ended 1-1, Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been captaining them in the ongoing ODI series as well which the West Indies are currently leading 1-0.
Here's the Bangladesh squad for the T20Is against the West Indies:
