"Always your biggest cheerleader" - Dhanashree Verma posts heartfelt note on Yuzvendra Chahal's birthday

Team India's veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal celebrated his 34th birthday on Tuesday, July 23. The cricket star received a sweet wish from his wife Dhanashree Verma on his special day.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Dhanashree shared a few pictures with her better half. She mentioned that Chahal's passion towards his team is one of his greatest qualities.

Hailing Chahal as the best spinner, Dhanashree wrote:

"Greatest spinner and a winner 💙 Your skill set and your passion to win it for your team is the greatest quality that you carry… May god always shower his blessings… always your biggest cheerleader ✨ Happy Birthday @yuzi_chahal23 🤍."

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's love story blossomed during the COVID-19 lockdown. The leg spinner approached Dhanashree, who is a choreographer by profession, for online dance classes.

The two soon became good friends. Chahal proposed marriage to Dhanashree and the two tied the knot on December 22, 2020. It is worth mentioning that apart from being a dancer, Dhanashree also graduated as a dentist.

Yuzvendra Chahal was snubbed by Indian selectors for upcoming Sri Lanka tour

On the cricketing front, Yuzvendra Chahal was last seen in action during the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The veteran bowler was the second-highest wicket-taker for his team, Rajasthan Royals, in the edition, bagging 18 scalps from 15 outings.

Chahal was part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad. However, he didn't find a place in the playing XI in any of the games and was benched throughout the tournament.

The Men in Blue will now tour Sri Lanka for three T20Is and as many ODIs. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squads for the two formats on July 18.

Chahal was overlooked by the selectors, as he didn't feature in either of the two squads. The three-match T20I series kicks off at Pallekele on July 27, while the ODI series opener will be played at Colombo on August 2.
