"Arey yaar" - Prithvi Shaw reacts as Yuzvendra Chahal shares picture of the Indian opener filling fuel in car

Indian opener Prithvi Shaw and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal are currently partaking in England's One-Day Cup. Both the players are plying their trade for Northamptonshire in the 50-over tournament.

With Northamptonshire eliminated from the tournament and their County Championship (Division Two) campaign kicking off on August 22, both Chahal and Shaw are enjoying a short break. The crafty spinner shared a story on his official Instagram handle on Saturday, August 17, in which Shaw can be seen filling fuel in a car at a gas station.

Resharing the story, Shaw wrote:

Prithvi Shaw was the leading run-getter for Northamptonshire in the One-Day Cup 2024

Prithvi Shaw looked in fine form in the One-Day Cup 2024. The swashbuckling batter was the leading run-getter for Northamptonshire in the edition, chalking up 343 runs across eight innings at an average of 42.87.

Shaw notched up three half-centuries, with a highest score of 97 this season. However, Northamptonshire had a lacklustre campaign, winning just two of their eight matches in the group stage. They failed to qualify for the quarter-finals, finishing in the penultimate place in the Group A point table.

Yuzvendra Chahal featured in just one match in the One-Day Cup 2024. He shone with the ball in his maiden outing, bagging a stunning five-wicket haul against Kent.

Shaw and Chahal will also be seen in action for Northamptonshire in the upcoming County Championship (Division Two). Chahal is available for the first five matches, while Shaw is expected to play the entire season.

The two players will aim to come up with impactful performances in the county stint. They will be keen on getting back in the Indian selectors' reckoning after having lost their places in the national side.

Northamptonshire are scheduled to open their County Championship campaign with a clash against Middlesex at Merchant Taylors' School Ground in Northwood on August 22.
