Former India cricketer Suresh Raina penned down a heartfelt message to wish Bollywood superstar Salman Khan a happy birthday. The popular actor celebrated his 59th birthday on Friday, December 27.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Raina shared a couple of pictures where he can be seen posing alongside Khan. The star cricketer reserved high prasie on the 59-year-old's philanthropic initiatives.

Extending birthday wishes to Khan, Raina wrote:

"Happy birthday @beingsalmankhan bhai 🎂🫶As a hero, you’ve won our hearts; as a humanitarian, you’ve touched lives! Suresh Raina was recently seen in action in the recently concluded Big Cricket League 2024 in Surat. He captained the Southern Spartans in the T20 tournament. The side finished as runner-up following a seven-wicket loss to the Mumbai Marines in the summit clash.

Raina shone with the bat in the final, scoring 51 runs off just 26 balls. The southpaw amassed 232 runs across six innings at an average of 46.40 in the competition.


When Suresh Raina used Salman Khan's song in his retirement video

Suresh Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, the same day as his close friend MS Dhoni. The left-handed batter shared a video on Instagram featuring some of the most memorable moments of his career.

He used the song 'Tu Jo Mila' from Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' for his retirement video. Raina wrote:

"With a lot of mixed feelings I’m able to make this announcement of my retirement. From a very young age, I as a small boy had literally lived Cricket on every street, gali and nukkad of my small town before making it to the Indian team. All I have known is cricket, all I have done is cricket & it runs through my veins."
