Australia's Georgia Wareham runs out Deepti Sharma by the barest of margins with a brilliant direct hit in IND-W vs AUS-W 1st ODI
Australia's Georgia Wareham ran out India all-rounder Deepti Sharma by the tiniest of margins with a brilliant direct hit in the first ODI of the three-match series in Brisbane on Thursday, December 5. Deepti was caught on the crease when the bails were dislodged. She departed for just one run off four deliveries, leaving the visitors in a spot of bother at 91/6. Notably, the crease belongs to the umpire.
The dismissal came in the 28th over of India innings. Deepti pushed a delivery from Ashleigh Gardner towards wide long-on and the left-hander was quite lazy in her run. Wareham came up with a loopy throw but was right on target.
The batter put in a desperate dive but couldn’t cross the line on time. Unfortunately, no portion of the bat was inside the crease and the third umpire adjudged it out.
