"A lot has gone through in the last week, really proud of the group"- Pakistan captain Shan Masood after win vs England in 2nd Test 2024
At the post-match presentation, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood reflected on the memorable victory, saying that hard work has finally paid off. He also asserted a change in strategy from green tops against Bangladesh to turning wickets against England have helped them.
Masood said:
"A lot has gone through in the last week, really proud of the group. The guys have put in the hard work, you can never doubt the efforts. It has come after a long time, more than 2 years. really special. A change of strategy for us, we went for the green tops against Bangladesh. We have not played a lot of Test cricket in Multan, only the one which was two years ago."
Applauding the star performers in the match, Masood continued:
"Noman and Sajid coming in, never easy for them but they looked like real seasoned campaigners. Zahid didn't bowl too much but he supported well in the field, we all tried to and backed them. It is really special for Kamran. Coming in and replacing one of the best batters, I read some of the things before the game and that were horrid. Can't imagine what it must have been for him. But from the get go, he looked like he belonged."
The third and final Test of the series between Pakistan and England will commence on Thursday (October 24) in Rawalpindi.
