BCCI announces fixtures for India Women’s home series against West Indies and Ireland

BCCI has announced the schedule for the India Women’s upcoming IDFC First Bank Home Series against West Indies and Ireland. The fixtures were announced on Wednesday, November 13.

First in line will be a three-match T20I series against the West Indies, starting on Sunday, December 15. The second and third T20Is are set for December 17 and 19, with all matches taking place in Navi Mumbai. Each game will begin at 7pm IST.

After the T20I series, attention will shift to the ODI series, beginning on December 22. The remaining matches will be held on December 24 and 27, with Baroda serving as the host city for the series. The first two games will start at 1.3 pm IST, while the final ODI will have a morning start at 9.30am IST.

In January 2025, India will face Ireland in a three-match ODI series, with all the games scheduled to take place in Rajkot on January 10, 12, and 15. All three ODIs will begin at 11am IST.

Both ODI series will count towards the ICC Women’s Championship standings, where India currently sit in third place with 25 points, just three behind Australia and England, who are tied at 28 points.

Meanwhile, the West Indies are in eighth place with 14 points, while Ireland occupy the bottom spot in tenth place with eight points.


India won their most recent ODI series against New Zealand

The Women in Blue were last in action during a three-match ODI series against the White Ferns in October. India won the opening game by 59 runs, successfully defending a target of 227.

New Zealand made a strong comeback in the second match, defeating India by 76 runs while defending 259. Skipper Sophie Devine was named Player of the Match for her all-round performance, scoring 79 runs and taking three wickets.

In the series decider, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side clinched the victory, with vice-captain Smriti Mandhana scoring an unbeaten 100 runs. Chasing 233, India won by six wickets with 34 balls to spare.
