India will look to better their medal tally at the Paris Olympics 2024
The prestigious Paris Olympics 2024 is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11. Paris will become only the second city ever to host the Summer Olympics thrice, having already hosted the Olympics way back in 1900 and 1924. London hosted it in 1908, 1948, and 2012.
This year, a total of 117 athletes will be representing India in Paris. Additionally, 140 support staff will be accompanying the athletes which takes the overall tally of the Indian contingent to 257.
India produced their best-ever performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics having won seven medals which included a gold, two silver, and four bronze medals. The previous best was the medal tally at the 2012 London Olympics where the nation won six medals.
This year, India will be looking to enhance their performance further by finishing the games with more medals than the Tokyo Olympics. Overall, in the history of the Summer Olympics, India have won 35 medals - 10 Gold, 9 Silver and 16 Bronze medals respectively.
