BCCI joins hands with new sportswear brand ahead of ICC WTC final

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has joined hands with a new sportswear brand for India men’s, women’s, A, and U-19 teams, including coaches and staff. Under the new contract, the Indian cricket team will wear jerseys, kits, and other merchandise from Adidas till March 2028.

In a tweet post, the BCCI shared a special video with the caption:

Speaking about the partnership, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said:

We are committed to helping grow the game of cricket and could not be more excited to partner with one of the world’s leading sportswear brands, Adidas, in this journey."

He added:

"With its rich historical legacy in sports, world-class products, and strong global reach, Adidas will play an important role in driving the performance and future success of different categories of Indian cricket”.

BCCI confirms Team India will wear three stripes starting with ICC WTC final

Team India will be seen with three stripes for the first time during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at the Oval in London, starting June 7.

In a statement, the BCCI said:

“Starting June 2023, Team India will be seen in the three stripes for the very first time and will debut their new kit during the World Test Championship Finals.”

Rohit Sharma and Co. will now look to script history by winning their first WTC trophy and ending the 10-year drought for an ICC trophy. India had previously failed to lift the title after they lost to New Zealand by eight wickets in the summit clash under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.
