"Been a treat to watch you bat" - Sachin Tendulkar thanks Travis Head's fan account for birthday wishes

Team India legend Sachin Tendulkar hilariously responded to Travis Head's fake account on X for wishing him on his birthday. Tendulkar, who turned 51 on April 24, thanked the fan account for the wishes before adding how he loved watching the left-hander bat.

Head has had a stellar 18 months in international and franchise cricket. He played instrumental roles in Australia's World Test Championship and ODI World Cup wins last year. He is also currently SunRisers Hyderabad's highest run-getter in the IPL so far.

After Head's fan account wished Tendulkar, the 51-year-old wrote on X:

"Thanks for the wishes, Travis! It has been a treat to watch you bat recently."

The southpaw, who smashed 137 in the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, notably received the Player of the Match award from Tendulkar.

With the T20 World Cup 2024 fast approaching, Head sees IPL as the perfect preparation. The 30-year-old also reflected on his progression as a player, claiming he had come a long way. He told PTI:

"I've come a long way as a player. I guess owning a little bit of the style I want to play and the way I have played overseas too, I've been able to tick a few boxes. Now, the pressure is to continue to play the way I am playing. With the World Cup coming around the corner and, hopefully, being involved in that squad and batting at the top of the order…it gives me good preparation here in the IPL to try and get some runs and have a little bit of form going into the World Cup."

The explosive left-hander is likely to open the innings for Australia in the T20 World Cup.
