Pakistan beat England clinically by nine wickets in the third Test on Saturday (October 26) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Courtesy of the commanding victory, they won the three-match series by a 2-1 margin. It is their first Test series victory at home since 2021.

England began Day 3 with an overnight score of 24/3 with Joe Root and Harry Brook at the crease. The duo put on a 46-run partnership for the fourth wicket by playing watchfully in tricky conditions. However, the partnership last long. Noman Ali (6/42) and Sajid Khan (4/69) spun a web around the England batting unit and triggered a collapse, which saw them fall from 66/3 to 112 all-out.

Noman Ali and Sajid Khan scalped 20 and 19 wickets across the last two games to help Pakistan end their Test-winning drought at home.

The Men in Green lost the sole wicket of Saim Ayub to chase down 37 runs in just 3.1 overs.

"Will dedicate this win to the people of Pakistan"- Shan Masood after beating England by 2-1 to win the Test series

At the post-match presentation, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood reflected on the remarkable series victory, saying:

"The first win came after a long time and it was backed up with the series. What this group, management and everyone involved has gone through has been incredible. Sajid literally bled for us yesterday and this win means a lot to us. Saud Shakeel's knock was incredible, the way Sajid and Noman played was amazing. It is a change of conditions for us, this was challenging from Day 1, but we have been able to adapt to conditions and have good seemers as well."

He continued:

"For me, the biggest thing will be progress in Pakistan cricket. It is heartening to see young talent come through and how the seniors have come back. Saud, Salman have been like leaders in the dressing room and Rizwan has been really good in the dressing room. Will dedicate this win to the people of Pakistan, who have been through tough times in cricket and otherwise."

The Men in Green will next travel to Australia to play three ODIs and as many T20I matches. The tour will commence on November 4 with the first ODI in Melbourne.
