Malda Smashers propel to the top; Medinipur Wizards grab first success
Rashmi Medinipur Wizards defeated Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers in the first game of the day. Bowling first, they limited Kolkata Tigers to 120/9 with Vaibhav Yadav and Shreyan Swarup Chakraborty claiming two wickets each. Abhishek Porel was the top scorer for the Tigers, scoring 30 off 40. Sandeep Tomar (21), Karan Lal (19), and Ronit Ghosh also added some runs to the total.
In reply, Wizards’ Wriddhiman Saha’s 36 off 22 was backed by a match-winning knock from Priyanshu Gaurav (54 off 48) and Vivek Singh’s 34 off 31. Sayan Sankar Ghosh took the solitary wicket of Saha.
In the following game, Sobisco Smashers Malda were restricted to 122/10. Writtick Chatterjee (30) and Writam Porel (34) were among the top contributors to Malda. Soumyadip Mandal, Aamir Gani, and Saksham Chaudhary picked up two wickets apiece while the rest of them took one.
