"Better retire before BGT" - Fans react after Rohit Sharma gets out on 18 in IND vs NZ 2024 3rd Test
India captain Rohit Sharma once again failed to deliver with the bat in the third and final Test against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium on Friday, November 1. The 37-year-old departed for just 18 runs despite getting dropped on 16. He was caught by Tom Latham at second slip off Matt Henry as the hosts lost the first wicket for 25 runs.
Notably, Rohit has been dismal with the bat in his last five Tests. The right-handed batter has returned with scores of 6, 5, 23, 8 (vs Bangladesh) and 2, 52, 0, 8, and 18 [today] (vs New Zealand). He will be keen to make amends in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, which starts in Perth on November 22.
Fans on X trolled Rohit Sharma for his poor show with the bat again. One user wrote:

"This is what I expected from Rohit Sharma, he is not able to play above 20 balls."
A third user added:
"Even After a Catch Drop this guy failed again. Take Retirement now."
