The Heat stayed on top of the table while the Scorchers are placed second with 13 points.
In the other match, Melbourne Renegades beat the Melbourne Stars by six wickets at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. The Renegades got themselves a consolation win while the Stars find themselves in a must-win position to advance to the playoffs.
Melbourne Renegades give Aaron Finch a winning farewell in BBL 2023-24
On Saturday, Aaron Finch played his last match in the BBL. On the special occasion, the BBL gave him a tribute by retiring his jersey No. 5. Finch did not have the best of outings as he got out to Joel Paris for a duck, but the Renegades won the match to give Finch a proper farewell.
After opting to field first, the Renegades restricted the Stars to 137 for the loss of eight wickets. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein and Kane Richardson picked up two wickets apiece. Fergus O Neill, Tom Rogers, and Adam Zampa accounted for one scalp apiece.
Hilton Cartwright was the pick of the batters for the Stars after he scored 38 runs off 30 balls with four fours and a six.
The Renegades chased down the target with 16 balls left. Shaun Marsh scored an unbeaten 64 off 49 balls with 10 fours as the Renegades romped home in 17.2 overs. Jake Fraser-McGurk lent him support with a knock of 42 off 31.
Nathan Coulter-Nile finished with figures of 4-0-25-2, but he did not get enough support from the others.
