"Bro can’t face Mukesh Chaudhary on DY Patil road in a T20 match"- Fans react as Ishan Kishan replaces injured KL Rahul in India's WTC final squad
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) formally announced Ishan Kishan as a replacement for KL Rahul, who got injured last week during IPL 2023. Rahul suffered an unfortunate injury while fielding during the match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He was ruled out of IPL 2023 and the WTC final soon after. Krunal Pandya took over the reins of the LSG team in his absence.
KL Rahul will undergo surgery and then do his rehabilitation in his comeback trial. Team India were already dealing with a long list of injured players before his addition. He has joined the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant, who are regular starters in the Test playing XI.
Fans took note of the selectors' decision to include Ishan Kishan in the WTC final squad on Monday and expressed their reactions to the same through Twitter. The move evoked mixed reactions, as many felt that players like Wriddhiman Saha, Sarfaraz Khan, and Abhimanyu Easwaran might have been better choices than Kishan.
