Brother of England cricketers selected in Zimbabwe's squad for ODI series against Afghanistan
Ben Curran, the brother of England cricketers Tom and Sam Curran, has been selected in Zimbabwe's squad for their forthcoming ODI series against Afghanistan. The son of former Zimbabwe cricketer Kevin Curran, Ben has been amply rewarded for his performances in domestic cricket.
Newman Nyamhuri is another fresh face in the Zimbabwe ODI set-up, and the 18-year-old left-arm seamer will be an interesting one to watch out for. Nyamhuri has been selected for both the T20I and ODI sides, unlike Curran, who has been picked solely for the ODI series.
The three-match T20I series between the two teams will begin on Wednesday, December 11 in Harare. An equal number of ODIs will be played by the teams from December 17. A couple of Tests are also scheduled to be played in Bulawayo, with the first starting on Boxing Day.
T20I squad: Sikandar Raza (c), Faraz Akram, Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Trevor Gwandu, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Wessly Madhevere, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri

Ben Curran has been in fine nick for Rhinos in Zimbabwe's domestic cricket
Ben Curran has been in fine nick for his side Rhinos in domestic cricket, and this call-up justifies that. In the last six innings that he has played across first-class and List A cricket, he has notched up scores of 53, 90, 125, 52, 30 and 56. Although he made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire, he now plays in Zimbabwe.
Curran has played a total of 45 first-class matches in his career and amassed 2429 runs at an average of 34.70. In List A cricket, the southpaw averages a healthy 33.30. Unlike his brothers Tom and Sam, Ben has chosen to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket.
