Tilak Varma has been selected for the upcoming Duleep Trophy starting September 5 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The 21-year-old has had a good year so far. He was Mumbai Indians' star batter in IPL 2024, scoring 416 runs across 13 matches in what was otherwise a forgettable season for the five-time champions.

Tilak missed the last match of the season due to an injury in his left hand and was subsequently excluded from the squad that toured Zimbabwe and later Sri Lanka in July. He will share the Indian A dressing room with the likes of Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, and Shivam Dube.

He will also be eyeing to be in India's squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The Hyderabad batter will be keen to prove his fitness in the upcoming Duleep Trophy.

Squad for India A: Shubman Gill (c), Mayank Agarwal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Tanush Kotian, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Vidwath Kaverappa, Kumar Kushagra, Shaswat Rawat.
