"Chalo aage aajaooo ab" - Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel engage in hilarious banter ahead of IND vs NZ 2024 Test series

Team India all-rounder Axar Patel is part of the Men in Blue squad for their upcoming three-match home Test series against New Zealand. He was recently seen practising with his teammates in Bengaluru ahead of the opening encounter.

Taking to his official Instagram handle on Tuesday, October 15, Axar shared a few pictures, giving fans a glimpse of the training session. The 30-year-old's close friend and India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav left people in splits with a hilarious comment.

He wrote:

"Chalo aage aajaooo ab (Move come in front now)."

Axar used a meme reference to react to Suryakumar's comment, replying:

"Abhi ruko thoda sabar karo 😂😂 (Wait have some patience)."

It is worth mentioning that Axar Patel was benched in both matches of India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh last month. The hosts went with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as their two spin-bowling options.

"There will be a toss-up between Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav" - Aakash Chopra on India's playing XI for Bengaluru Test against New Zealand

Former India opener Aakash Chopra noted that India prepared seam-friendly pitches for the Bangladesh Test series to prepare for their upcoming tour of Australia. He, however, urged the side to attack with spin against New Zealand.

He opined that the home team should add one of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav as the third spinner for the Test series opener.

Speaking in a video shared on his YouTube channel, the cricketer-turned-commentator stated:

"Will they (India) want to play an extra spinner? The sort of pitches we made last time, whether we talk about the first match in Chennai and the second match in Kanpur, we tried to make slightly pace-friendly pitches. We went with three fast bowlers."
"That was the game plan because you were looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and you can play pace in any case against Bangladesh but not against New Zealand. I would say let's go back to our tried and tested formula and play spin. There will be a toss-up between Axar and Kuldeep," he added.

The first Test of the three-match series between India and New Zealand will be played in Bengaluru from Wednesday, October 16.
