Team India could only score 137/9 following a top-order collapse in the 3rd T20I vs Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and opted to bowl first in the contest. India got off to a poor start as they lost the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal (10), Sanju Samson (0), and Rinku Singh (1) in 3.1 overs with only 14 runs on the board. Captain Suryakumar Yadav (8) and Shivam Dube (13) also departed without contributing much, leaving India in trouble at 48/5.

Shubman Gill (39) and Riyan Parag (26) put on a 54-run partnership for the sixth wicket and stabilized things for their side following a turbulent start. However, both batters failed to convert their knocks into big ones after getting set, which dented India's chances of reaching a decent total. Washington Sundar (25) played a cameo in the death overs in the company of lower-order batters to push the visiting side's total to 137. Maheesh Theekshana scalped three wickets for Sri Lanka in the bowling department.
