"We leaked too many runs at the death"- South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt after the loss against India in 2nd ODI

At the post-match presentation, South Africa skipper Laura Wolvaardt applauded her teammates for putting on a fight in a steep chase, even though it ended with a heartbreak. Reflecting on the loss, she said:

"I think losing by four runs is a bit heartbreaking in the 300+ run chase but extremely proud of our performance. It was easy to go in the shell but I liked how we responded, especially, Kappie. We leaked too many runs at the death and it's very hard with the bowling options we had. India executed the yorkers better than us."

Wolvaardt continued:

"We had the fastest start but the partnership brought us in the position where we were .It's a four run loss and if you look back and analayse it will be annoying. But it's a great batting performance from our group in a while. My feet are pretty sore and hopefully, I will have a good sleep if I try to switch off and will see."

The two teams will clash in the third and final match of the series on Sunday (June 23) at the same venue.
